We use a sub-cortical approach called BrainSpotting. Generally speaking, Brainspotting was originally identified as a trauma-processing tool. This is not a stereotypical therapeutic approach, but more of a non-verbal, deep-brain approach that allows an individual to deal with the fight-flight-or-freeze dynamics that are interrupting their ability to perform.

BrainSpotting is an approach that has been growing in popularity ever since David Grand, Ph.D. began training people in the early 2000s. Brainspotting allows individuals to access vital thoughts, feelings, and emotions that are connected to prior experiences and process them in the mid-brain. The advantage of doing things in this way is that it cuts out unnecessary verbal processes and the end result is a deeper process–one that makes way for greater change. In essence, new meaning is made of old experiences. Athletes and other performers have begun to use this approach with great success, allowing them to move past psychological barriers, unleashing their potential.Engagements range from two weeks for focused audits to several months for comprehensive transformation.

We enjoy helping people realize their full potential. While working with athletes and other performers can mean processing difficult past experiences, the vibe is always one centered around positive psychology and performance and that is refreshing. Athletes and performers often times are dedicated and focused individuals who have worked very hard to get where they are, and it is a delight to work with these personalities, and momentarily be a part of their “team.”Yes, we remain actively involved until solutions are fully operational and staff are confident.
